Realizing Smart City, Surabaya City government collaborates with UNAIR

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Postgraduate School received a visit from the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, S.T., M.T., and his staff on Monday, March 15, 2021. The visit was made to establish cooperation between UNAIR Postgraduate School and the Surabaya City Government to create a Smart City in Surabaya.

On this occasion, Eri Cahyadi, S.T., M.T., had a discussion with Prof. Badri Munir Sukoco, S.E., MBA., Ph.D., as Director of UNAIR Postgraduate School. There were also Dr. Rudi Purwono, S.E., M.SE., as Vice Director I of the Postgraduate School, Prof. Dr. Rr. Sri Pantja Madyawati drh., M.Si., as Vice Director II of Postgraduate School and Assoc. Prof. Suparto Wijoyo S.H., M.Hum., as Vice Director III of Postgraduate School.

Eri Cahyadi, S.T., M.T., said that in realizing the smart city of Surabaya, the City Government will collaborate with many universities. This collaboration is expected to accelerate the realization of a smart city.

“So the concept (smart city, ed) from UNAIR and ITS is indeed my lead and there will be a combination of these concepts,” he said.

The discussion covered many sectors ranging from the health sector, the tourism sector to the economic sector. From the health sector, several issues were discussed, including on how health services at the puskesmas will be carried out, the integration of data between health services and health offices and other parties. Meanwhile, in the economic sector, one of the topics discussed is related to small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“I hope it (the realization of a smart city, ed) can be implemented soon,” added the Mayor.

Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Suparto Wijoyo SH, M.Hum., said that UNAIR is ready to help and collaborate with the Surabaya City Government. He also added that UNAIR would go all out and give their best.

“We are ready to collaborate, UNAIR is ready to go all out to give the best,” he said.

At the end of the activity, there was a photo session as well as submission of the MOA (memorandum of agreement) document which was given directly by Prof. Badri Munir Sukoco, S.E, M.BA., Ph.D., as Director of UNAIR Postgraduate School to the Mayor of Surabaya. (*)
