UNAIR NEWS – A day after the bomb terror attack 3 churches in Surabaya on Sunday, 13 May 2018, Universitas Airlangga made an immediate response to stabilize the situation. Rector Universitas Airlangga Prof. Dr. H. Mohammad Nasih, MT., SE., Ak., CMA issued a letter number 1383 / UN3 / LN / 2018.

The purpose of the letter issued was to calm down UNAIR’s overseas partners and foreign students studying at UNAIR.

Not only in the form of a letter, Universitas Airlangga also conducted some recovery activities related to terror bombing in Surabaya. The activity was in the form of counselling by the lecturers of Faculty of Psychology to students whose school is located near the church. UNAIR also provided guest house for foreign students who feel worried with Surabaya’s condition.

To maintain comfort and security, Universitas Airlangga was also ready to assign personnel to company foreign students during their travel.

According to Director of Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE), Prof. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, this fast response by UNAIR has given a very good impact. UNAIR Partners abroad still continue to carry out their agenda as usual, one of them is UNAIR’s partners from Taiwan who are visiting Universitas Airlangga on Friday, May 18, 2018. Prof. Nyoman also explained that no foreign students studying at Universitas Airlangga going home because of terror bombing in Surabaya.

In the future, hopefully similar incidents will not happen again so all teaching and learning process and collaboration of Universitas Airlangga will not experience any setbacks.
