UNAIR NEWS – After the initial success, BEM FST held the second Abdi Desa in Gumeng Village, Mojokerto Regency at the beginning of Ramadan. As a team, Ahmad Fahmi Ramadlan explained that this second community service is different from the first Abdi Desa which focused more on social approach so that people can accept and support them. Second Abdi Desa, he explained, focused more on the economic field.
“In accordance with our focus, we build a catfish pond with the residents, held a vegetable nugget demonstration, teach Qur’an in TPQ, and since it is also in Ramadan we also pray together (tahlilan, ed) and read Qur’an together in the mosque, “said Fahmi.
Regarding the making of the catfish pond, he added, it was carried out in front of the the village head’s house. It was done on Saturday, May 19 from 2 pm until 4 pm. With high spirits assisted by the committee, the residents worked together even though they were fasting.
Furthermore, Fahmi of the committee hoped that the catfish pond can be a source of economy for the people of Gumeng Village. In the afternoon the committee also held a demonstration on making vegetable nuggets.
“A demo on nugget-making process was shown directly to citizens. This event was also aimed to overcome the children of Gumeng Village who are reluctant to eat vegetables, “said Fahmi.
In addition, before breaking their fasting, the committee also helped TPQ learning process. They also held a prayer with the people and read Quran in the mosque.
The second day of the event was assisted by the entire Study Group (KS) Himbio such as Peksia, Banhu, Herpetologi, Botani, MSC, and BEC, there was also participation of BSO KSSAPL, Himafi, Kakema FPK, children Gumeng Village gathered in village hall to play. The game was to create collages with various forms.
“This game can be done in an educating way. The lesson to make this collage requires a variety of forms by using green and dried leaves, “said Fahmi.
After successfully trying to give a new source of economy in the this Abdi Desa, the next Abdi Desa is implementing Idul Qurban and harvest the catfish that has been maintained in the catfish pond the citizens have made.
