One of them was from UNAIR Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) lecturers who spontaneously provided assistance to RSUA, Friday, March 20, 2020.

The aid was given directly by Head of the Communication Department FISIP UNAIR Dr. Liestianingsih to the Vice Director of Medical and Nursing Services at RSUA Dr. Hamzah., dr., Sp.An., KNA. The aid provided was in the form of masks, hand sanitizers, vitamins, and hand washing soap.

Lies representing the lecturers said that she and her fellow lecturers wanted to support the medical staff as they are forefront personnel in Covid-19 handling. For this reason, she and her fellow lecturers took the initiative to assist medical staff at RSUA.

Their support was inspired by the news spread in the community about the depletion of personal protective equipment (APD) used by medical staff while on duty.

“In a disaster like this, there’s always a limitation. All industries have tried to boost production, but there are indeed facing many demands, “explained Hamzah.

Hamzah added, he continued to coordinate with the Surabaya City Health Office, East Java Provincial Health Office, and BPPD related to the availability of medical equipment to handle Covid-19 at RSUA.

“They are all very concerned about helping us. Until today, it is enough for now. There are still 100 astronaut suit (hazmat suit, ed), enough for a week,” he explained.
