UNAIR NEWS – The fourth anniversary of Paguyuban Purna Bhakti (Retiree Association) Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Airlangga was celebrated with a reunion activity on Wednesday, April 11. The reunion activity was to show gratitude of the retired lecturers and employees. However, the event was not only attended by retired lecturers and employees, but also lecturers and employees who are still actively working.

Being held in Room 104 Building C FISIP UNAIR, joy was in the air as they were reunited after a long period time. Moreover, the association has only been established in 2014.

“This can be done because there is a sense of connection. We rarely met after we are retired. This association shows that we remain members of FISIP, “explained Haryadi a former Dean of FISIP UNAIR.

Sudirman as one of the employees who have been retired said that living in a retirement is not easy. According to him, it needs time to adjust, from having activities then just stop working.

“I have worked for 29 years as an employee in FISIP and since retirement, I have less activities, ” said Sudirman.

The main event of the celebration was marked by slicing turmeric rice (tumpeng) as a form of gratitude to God Almighty.

“I hope this association continues because it is useful especially for retired lecturers and employees. It is not only in FISIP but there are others in faculties, this way FISIP academicians’ relationship can be maintained, ” continued Sudirman who now works as cleaners of Ulul Azmi Mosque Campus C UNAIR.

Besides as reunion forum, the association is also a media for lecturers and employees to hold various events such as seminars, lectures, and recreation. In addition, it also becomes a place for business development, through the canteen of retiree at FISIP UNAIR. The canteen, located in front of Building A FISIP UNAIR, sells snacks produced by the hands of the retirees. Not only sells food, but the cafeteria also sells handycrafts.
