UNAIR NEWS – Exmo Club (Exmo is an acronym of Excellence with Morality) is a mental-spiritual body initiated by UNAIR Islamic Student Activity Unit (UKMKI). There is a routine meeting facilitated by a mentor.
Exmo Club program gives a deep impression that makes participants more consistent in performing their worship. Teachings presented regularly, can penetrate into the heart, and the knowledge obtained can be sincerely implemented.
Exmo Club meeting was held to maintain the spiritual condition of each member and remind each other to pray. In addition to studying matters related to Islam, group members can share about their daily life both in academic life on campus and personal issues. In a caring environment, there is a deep impression to strengthen brotherhood.
“Exmo Club makes members closer and they can help each other,” said Affan Muhammad Andalan, the head of UKMKI UNAIR.
Hopefully, UKMKI can be a campus consistent body spreading Islamic values and serve all elements in the campus by promoting ukhuwah (brotherhood) and also professional in conducting activities with the priority of Islamic essence in each program. Therefore, the work of “educating the righteous and the intelligent” will be progressive.
UKMKI also often follows a number of programs outside the campus, at local, regional, even national level.
For example, they participated in Forum Silaturrahim Lembaga Dakwah Kampus Surabaya Raya and at national level, Forum Silaturrahim Lembaga Dakwah XVIII National Campus in Pekanbaru last May. In addition, UKMKI UNAIR is now one of the Campus Da’wah Institutions included in the self-supporting category and they visited several Campus Affiliated Dakwah Institutions to monitor and assist the organization development on campus (Greater Surabaya area).
On the scientific front, UKMKI UNAIR is also a partner of Society of Indonesian Scientists and Technologists – Student Clusters (MITI-KM) which regularly hold meetings and seminars. “We joined last month at Trunojoyo University of Madura,” Affan added.
UKMKI UNAIR is also regularly invited in the activities of Mudzakarah Da’I, the meetings of da’is from various Islamic organizations that discuss issues of strategic governance held by the Council of Ulama Indonesia (MUI) of East Java Province. (*)
