UNAIR NEWS – Ramadan is here in three weeks. It is normal to welcome its greatness with a sermon on life from a poet and Islamic scholar, Emha Ainun Nadjib.

On Friday, May 12, Universitas Airlangga academicians and the public are invited to attend an event of “UNAIR Bersama Bangbang Wetan, Sinau Bareng Cak Nun dan Kiai Kanjeng”. The event which is always attended by hundreds of people will be held in the yard of Management Office Building Campus C UNAIR.

“It is open to all academicians, from students, officials and alumni of UNAIR. People of Surabaya are also invited to come to Campus C UNAIR,” said the Secretary of Information and Public Relations Center UNAIR, Dr. Bimo Aksono, drh.

The poet best known as Cak Nun and his group are expected to give sermon and musical art performance in the yard of Management Office Building.

The game will be started with acoustic music performance, then there will be an opening performance by Kiai Kanjeng, an address from UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, and a sermon from Cak Nun.

In 2016, Cak Nun also gave a sermon on nationalism. In that event, Cak Nun expressed how important the science is. “If only a knowledge, a week at college is enough, but the important part is the grace,” said Cak Nun.

UNAIR Rector, when opened last time’s event said that nationalism was popular topic to discuss. “We are talking about nationalism, talking about social gap in our society,” said Nasih.
