UNAIR NEWS – A member of Tennis Table Club Universitas Airlangga has made another achievement for the alma mater. Viviani Nadyaningrum has succeeded in winning a trophy in a national table tennis competition in 2017 Universitas Semarang Rector’s Cup.

Viviani has won the third place after defeating an opponent from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, 3–2, on Sunday, April 15 in Gelora Prof. Sudarto, USM. Vivi played in the single category and succeeded in defeating the seeded opponent.

“At first, I didn’t believe at all. I feel that my preparation was not optimal. When I knew that my opponent was seeded contender, I just wanted to play. I never thought of leading 2-0 and then we had a tie, 2-2 and Alhamdulillah finally I won 3-2,” said Viviani.

The annual competition held in Gelora Prof. Sudarto, SH Universitas Semarang is an annual competition held by Universitas Semarang, with 150 participant from across Indonesia competing in some categories, student single, double, mix, non PON single and mix.

In the competition, UNAIR Tennis Table club sent three players, for student single men and women and non-PON single, and one team official. “The competition was too close with our mid-term exam (UTS) so we only go with three players,”said the student of Accounting bachelor program, Faculty of Economics and Business.

The 2016 students felt grateful for her achievement. Personally, she hoped that she could participate in the competition routinely and make better achievements.
