Commemoration of World Water Day is on March 22. It is commemorated so that all citizens of the world realize the importance of clean water in their lives. The initiation of the commemoration was announced for the first time at 47th UN General Assembly on December 22, 1992 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
