UNAIR NEWS – Tempe menjes to some people is regarded old fashioned food. But in the hands of five students D3 Taxation Faculty of Vocational Studies Universitas Airlangga, tempe menjes is made into the latest popular snack.
Entrepreneurship PKM (PKM-K) team of Rr. Wibsa Adelia Augie, Beka Ratu, Eryl Hayattul Umma, Anggi Nur’aini Ikawati, and this Ardiyanto Reviandy makes popular risoles variant combined with stuffing tempe menjes.
“Tempe is actually a food that comes from the fermentation of tofu waste. Not many know the benefits of tempe menjes, it contains 4% protein and 30.4% crude fiber. This fiber is useful for digestion and preventing constipation, “said Anggi one of the team members.
The team leader, Adelia Augie added that the idea of making risoles was from the lack of diversification of the risoles that make culinary enthusiasts start looking for new variants. The reason tempe menjes chosen as a new variant of risoles is the nutritional value and the cheap price.
“It is very potential to be processed into a product that has a higher economic value,” said Adelia.
Risoles menjes they produced is named named “Rolljess” has already had large market. Because of the affordable price, 1 pack “Rolljess” containing two seeds of risoles is sold Rp. 6000, -. It has modern packaging, so risoles menjes is able to attract consumers.
“Our product is evenly distributed in East Java. Yesterday there were consumers ordering from Banyuwangi, Madura, Surabaya, Lamongan, Tuban, Sidoarjo, Pasuruan. Some even from East Nusa Tenggara, ” she said.
For promotion, Adelia explained that “Rolljess” is promoted using social media such as Instagram and Line.
“Indeed, there are many risoles products on the market, but those which use tempe menjes are not many yet. We believe this risoles entrepreneurship program will be able to be a business with guaranteed sustainability, ” she concluded.
