UNAIR NEWS – The annual event of Chicken and Eggs day which hosted by veterinary interest student club of poultry and birds interest (KMVUB) Faculty of Veterinary Universitas Airlangga always crowded. More than thousands visitors made a line to acquire free eggs at city hall of Surabaya on Sunday (17/9)
“Government has issued that the National Chicken and Egg Day is on October 5th . So, we are members or KMV poultry and birds participate to hold it. We provide some insight about chicken and eggs as the highest protein source to the community,” Said Brigas Kartiko Putro, as the chairman of the event.
The event series was held on Thursday (14/9). The veterinary student provided eggs to academic civitas of Universitas Airlangga. The eggs also distributed to students of Sekolah Dasar Negeri Mulyorejo I (Mulyorejo Elementary School I) In September 16th. The closing event was held at city hall of Surabaya on last Sunday.
The closing event was attended by the officials of Surabaya Government and the Indonesia senior chef Junior Rorimpandey, or well known as chef Juna. In the same occasion, Juna showed his skill by cooking the traditional food of Manado, Ayam rica- rica (rica-rica chicken)
The committee provided 900 coupons to people. A coupon could be redeemed with a package consists of four eggs. The attendances could acquire chicken nuggets, chicken sausages and chicken satay for free.
“This year, we provide processed chicken food more than before, such as Sausage, nugget and chicken satay. Furthermore, we are working with Office of Food Security and Agriculture, so, here there is a bazar of farmers enliven our event,” Brigas stated, a veterinary student class of 2015.
