UNAIR NEWS – Three student of Universitas Airlangga achieved second position in Sharia Economic Learning Forum (SELF) XIV on Sunday (21/5). The scientific writing was held in Udayana University, Bali.

They were Yurike Dhika Adhela (Faculty of Public Health/2015), Yuli Puspitasari Dewi (Faculty of Pubvlic Health 2014), and Ninik Rosyidah (Faculty of Social and Politics Science/2014).

In the competition, they brought the idea of the use of useless waste shells. The idea entitled “Utilization of Local Shell Wastes (Anadar granosa) as Sociopreneurship-based Livestock Rations Substitution in Efforts to Improve Coastal Communities of Surabaya Coast”.

“I see an opportunity in coastal areas of Surabaya, there are much waste shells that are not utilized and just dumped,” Ninik Explained

UNAIR team succeed becomes runner up after setting aside nine finalists from other universities. “Honestly we are very happy because it can boast of family and alma mater, although at the time we’re not sure that could be a champion” Ninik added.

SELF Competition is a competition for scientific writing of national level students. This competition was followed by D-3 and S-1 students of state and private universities in Indonesia.

“At first I seemed to hesitate to join this competition but with the support of Ninik and Yuli, I sent this idea in the competition,” Yurike said.
