Today, 835 UNAIR Students Graduated

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga has held another graduation for its students. For the ceremony on July 16, 2016, UNAIR Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA., graduated 835 students of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR). It was held in Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), Campus C UNAIR Jl. Dr. Ir. Soekarno (Mulyorejo) Surabaya.

The graduates were from many degrees and programs, from Diploma 3 (D-3), Diploma 4 (D-4), Bachelor (S-1), Master (S-2) and Doctoral (S-3). The proceeding was witnessed by the university officials, the professors and lecturers of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), representative of Alumni (IKA-UA), government officials also parents of the graduates. It was also attended by the Indonesian Ambassador for Eight African countries, Andradjati.

In this graduation, among 853 graduates, there were 103 graduates from Bidikmisi program. There were also 15 international students from various countries through scholarships.

Graduates are Winners

In his speech, UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Moh Nasih congratulated the graduates as they, according to UNAIR Rector, were winners. They have won their fights against temptations which can hamper them to finish their studies.

”We can say that this graduation is a celebration for students qualified as winners. The graduates who were present in sacred proceeding were students who won their fights against temptations during their studies in the university. They came from many things, from getting bad marks, being late in finishing studies, hampered in finishing thesis, even dropping out,” said the professor on Accounting of FEB UNAIR.

Therefore, UNAIR Rector expected the graduates of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) to answer the challenges in the society.

“I am optimistic that all graduates will later face challenges, the campus with spirit of Excellence with Morality has prepared all of you, it’s only a matter of applying it in the society,” said UNAIR Rector.

Graduates from Foreign Countries

In this graduation, July 2016, there were 15 international students graduated. They were from Malaysia, Timor Leste, Nepal, Afghanistan, Sudan, Senegal, Myanmar, and Pakistan. Most of them were from Developing Country Partnership program. During their study in UNAIR, they have had their own interests. Some took Pharmacy, Master programs of Law, Science and Management and Master of Nursing.

For graduation held in 2016, UNAIR has graduated 24 foreign students, 4 bachelors, 2 professionals, 17 masters and 1 doctor.
