Turkey, the Choice of Five Pharmacy Students to Get International Pharmaceutical Science

UNAIR NEWS – Five students of Faculty of Pharmacy (FF) Universitas Airlangga, Nurul Azizah (2015), Andharu Oktobio (2014), Eka Ratih Pravianti (2014), Nayundra Rizki (2014), and Aulia Rahma Hanifa (2014), were selected as participants in Summer Student Exchange Program. It was organized by the International Pharmaceutical Student’s Federation (IPSF).

IPSF which is an international pharmacy student organization organizing exchange programs in several fields, namely community, hospital, industrial, and research.

In the student exchange, the five students can choose the desired place because the exchange program takes place differently in each host country, the date, place, and duration. From the long process, Turkey became their choice.

“There were some choices of countries but we chose Turkey as our destination. Therefore we conducted it for 2 weeks from 16 July to 27 July 2018, ” explained the representative, Andharu.

Experience during the program certainly cannot be obtained easily. According to him, during their stay in Turkey they had the opportunity to take part in an internship, Turkish Night and weekend trips which were part of the exchange program .

“During intership we support lecturers’ researches in Turkey. In Turkish Night we enjoyed Turkish specialties such as ayran, adanan kebab, and baklava. Furthermore, every weekend during the program there were weekend trips. We went to Prince Island and Cappadocia “, said Andharu.

According to Andharu, during the exchange program there was nothing that is not memorable. During the activity they get new relationships, knowledge and experiences.  We got a lot of lessons from it, especially about the culture in Turkey.

“The main lesson that I got was from their culture. The people of Istanbul in their daily lives were very friendly, disciplined, and respectful of others “, said Andharu.

After the exchange program, Andharu explained that he wanted to be able to invite others to join too. The activities are very useful for students because activities it can actively train English or other languages, moreover there are no difficult requirements to be fulfilled and prepared.

“The requirements are only Motivation Letter and Curriculum Vitae. Nothing is difficult but the intention is. So you must have clear intention to participate in activities like these,”said Andhara.
