UNAIR NEWS – Looking at the necessity of Universitas Airlangga students for leadership skill, Department of Shiar and Science, Islamic Student Activity Unit (UKMKI) held Inspiration Class: Muslim Leadership Talk. Inspiration class is different from other UKMKI.

The event was organized in a more relaxed way. The event on the third Sunday of March, March 24 was themed “Learning to Lead”.

Iqbal Rifqi as the head of the department managed to provide some information related to the event. According to him the theme was chosen of the desire to hone UNAIR student leadership skills especially in the view of Islam.

“We consider the leaders in student organizations Universitas Airlangga still need to improve themselves especially to be the figure who can be a role model for other students, “explains Iqbal.

In the event led by Farhatul Ashfaari, there were three speakers. Head of UKMKI 2018 Mohammad Athoillah S., was the first speaker talking about leaders and leadership in Islamic perspective.

The second speaker was Anang Fajrul Ukhwaluddin. The head of BEM UNAIR 2017 spoke about the campus politics in UNAIR. The last person was from Bogor Institute of Agriculture, Panji Laksono, Head of BEM IPB 2017.

“We invited Head of BEM IPB 2017 because of his excellent track record and his experience in leading students in IPB. His public speaking skill is also amazing, “said Iqbal.

The three speakers and leaders of organizations were expected to inspire and motivate the participants who were present in the 3rd floor Hall, Student Center, UNAIR.

“They came not only from UKMKI. Most of the them have been active in organizations, ” added Iqbal.

Through the event, UNAIR students were expected to be inspired and show more their leadership skills and rise up to the challenges, at national and international level.

“Mas Panji said that as students we should not be afraid to act and step up to do something as long as what we believe is true, “he explained.

Another Inspiration class will be held again next semester. In that occasion, UKMKI has decided authorship theme and planned to invite great authors. (*)
