UNAIR NEWS –Thousands of jobseekers crowded the door of Airlangga Convention Center since seven in the morning on Saturday, April 4. Most of them are senior students and jobseekers looking for scholarships for further studies or job placements in Airlangga Career Fair (ACF) Scholarship and Entrepreneur Expo 2017.
The career fair is a routine event of Career and Entrepreneurship Development Center (PPKK) Universitas Airlangga. It was held for two days, Saturday and Sunday. The representative of PPKK, Drs. Ec. Mashariono, MM, stated that the career fair has been an icon of UNAIR therefore, it should be held routinely.
“ACF held is the 28th. It means PPKK has held it for 14 years, it should be maintained,” said Mashariono.
Vice Rector II UNAIR Dr. Muhammad Madyan, also attended to open the ACF. “We’re thankful that UNAIR has a lot of routine creative events,” he stated.
“There are at least three things ACF visitors can get. First, the organized appointment between jobseekers and job providers. Second, open opportunity to study further in or out of the country. Third is the performance of creative economics supported by PPKK,” he explained.
The career fair is participated by 22 companies, 7 education institutions and 4 entrepreneurial business supported by PPKK. Badrus Zaman, from PPKK, also said that his unit has prepared counseling corner to help the jobseekers to get advice for the right jobs for them.
“The new thing is counseling corner. The jobseekers can ask for advice and guidance on the right jobs for them,” added Badrus. (*)
