UNAIR NEWS – UNAIR Students in Student Musabaqah Tilawatil (MTQM) made another achievements. Six delegates have brought home four trophies of 2018 Regional MTQM Championship East Java V at University of Jember on 11-13 August. They were Ratna Devi Antari, the first winner of Women Hifdzil Quran 10 Juz; Mohammad Miftachuddin, second winner Men Qiraah Sab’ah; Wardah Zuhan, Nila Firdawati, and Affan Al-Habsy, third winner Fahmil Quran; and Sofiah Islakhul Abda, third winner of Women Khattil Quran.
Activities held every two years take different locations each time. This year Jember University was appointed to host Regional MTQM East Java V. Themed “Through Regional Student MTQ East Java V, To Socialize Qur’an, To Achieve Islam Rahmatallilalamin “, through this event, students are expected to be able to improve understanding and appreciation of Qur’an contents.
There are 13 categories in MTQM East Java V, Tilawah Alquran, Musabaqah Tartil Quran, Musabaqah Qiraat Sab’ah, Musabaqah Hifdzil 5 Juz Quran, Musabaqah Hifdzil 10 Juz Quran, Musabaqah Hifdzil 20 Juz Quran, Musabaqah Fahmil Quran, Musabaqah Khattil Quran, Musabaqah Syarhil Quran, Musabaqah Quran Debate in English, Qur’an Scientific Writing, and Musabaqah Qur’an Application Design.
There are 74 participating universities in East Java with 389 male participants and 402 female participants.
This time UNAIR send 24 delegates in all categories of the race, except for Arabic debate, qiraat sab’ah women, and Hifdzhil Quran 20 juz. Before leaving for the competition, participants were provided with three stages of intensive training since April.
Zuhan, one of the delegation, expressed his gratitude when his team won third place Quran Fahmil. ” We’re very grateful. We did not expect to enter the final as our opponent was very competitive. It turns out that God has other wishes, ” he said.
Meanwhile, Ratna Devi Antari, the delegation who won the first place in Hifdzil Quran 10 Juz Women category, also stated the same thing. “I didn’t expect it. Thank God, really. It turned out that I was the first winner, “said the 2017 Faculty of Medicine student.
Although she felt unwell before the competition, it was not a significant obstacle for Ratna. By establishing intentions for God alone, her efforts and prayers also bear fruit. She won first.
Ratna admitted that she did not have specific tips. She was sure that her success was given by God.
“In essence, we intend to preserve our memorization. But, sometimes it is difficult, because in the competition, our intention is expecting to become a champion. So, we need to manage our intentions. So, whatever the results, you will not be disappointed because of your intention to strengthen memorization, ” she said.
The student who is also a member of the Tahfidzul Quran UKM said that she had a lot of valuable experience through these activities. “We met great people, strengthen ties, and preserve God’s verses,” she said.
In the next occasion, Ratna hoped UNAIR could be overall champion especially at the national level.
“Hopefully next year UNAIR can become the first overal champion. Hopefully all of us can become better individuals, be the pride of the alma mater and parents, Amin, ” she said. (*)
