UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga collaborated with PT. Indosat Ooredoo on information technology development. The MoU signing was held on Wednesday in Rector’s office, Management Office Building, Campus C UNAIR.
UNAIR Rector, Prof Mohammad Nasih, welcomed well this partnership. He hoped this partnership can bring mutual benefits for both sides.
“In the future, our science development will depend on information technology. There are many collaborative schemes to develop. We welcomed well this partnership. Therefore, we need all supports we can get,” said Nasih.
Director & Chief of Wholesale and Enterprise Officer PT Indosat, Herfini Haryono, said that Indosat has made some offers to UNAIR. Most of them are related to technological development in work community of UNAIR, such as health app development, database and free-of-charge connection.
“We want to participate in things being developed by UNAIR on technology as we provide support on telecommunication technology. We offered technologies we haven’t offered to UNAIR,” said Herfini.
Herfini said that potential partnership between both institutions can be about human resources quality development. Students or lecturers in UNAIR can have internship program in PT Indosat, but human resources of PT. Indosat can improve their knowledge by studying in UNAIR.
“We hope to support more. We also offered that Indosat can be more active on lecture’s quality such as by using Indosat for internship program. There was also non-product development which focuses on human resources of both institutions,” she stated.
Previously, the collaboration of PT Indosat with UNAIR was limited to the usage of internet service. With this partnership, Herfini hoped that PT. Indosat can participate more the implementation on Tri Dharma implementation in UNAIR.
