UNAIR NEWS – Rector of Universitas Airlangga Prof. Dr. Mochammad Nasih said that research efforts will be improved. The effort meant was the program accreditation, the number of lecturers and doctoral degrees and the publications.
The statement was made after Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education released the ranking of cluster 1 non-polytechnic universities. The ranking was assessed from the universities’ human resources, researches, institutional aspect, students and community services.
“UNAIR is at the seventh place. Same with last year’s ranking. Hopefully, next year it can be improved,” stated Nasih.
To improve the rank, Nasih will accelerate few things. First, increasing the number of programs accredited A. The target is 65% of all UNAIR’s programs to be accredited A by 2017. It is higher target which was at 55%.
“Hopefully, next year our programs accredited A can reach 78%. We have got some problems related to the period of the accreditation. This year and next year, the programs accredited B can still achieve A accreditation,” stated Nasih.
Furthermore, the number of publications should also be increased. The professor of Faculty of Economics and Business said that the number of research publications by UNAIR researchers until midyear 2017 was 300 papers. If we add with proceeding this year, the number can reach 1000 publications.
He hoped that UNAIR academicians can maintain synergy to promote Higher Education Tri Dharma. “It is our work reflection in the universities. We should learn a lesson from this, and prepare for the future,” stated UNAIR Rector. (*)
