UNAIR SDGs Center attends BAPPENAS’ SDGs achievement dissemination

UNAIR NEWS – The SDGs Center of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) attended the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency of the Republic of Indonesia’s dissemination on Presidential Regulation No 111 of 2022.

The dissemination was held to strengthen the implementation and acceleration of SDGs achievements as regulated by Presidential Regulation No 111 of 2022 regarding the Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals implementation as an amendment to Presidential Regulation Number 59 of 2017.

UNAIR SDGs Center delegates, Hakim Zulkarnain SKep Ns MSN, Moh. Agung Santoso Shum MM, Bakti Hasanudin SE, and Nungky Mufarocha SPi attended the event.

The dissemination invited all elements of stakeholders, such as the ministries and institution, heads of local governments, local governments, philanthropy/business, universities, non-governmental organizations, development partners, and the media. The event was held online on Tuesday morning, October 18, 2022.

Some keynote speakers, Suharso Monoarfa (Minister of the National Development Planning /Head of Bappenas as Coordinator of SDGs), Margo Yuwono (Head of the Central Statistics Agency), Taufik Hanafi (Secretary of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Main Secretary of Bappenas), and Teguh Setyabudi (Director General of Regional Development of the Ministry of Home Affairs) also attended the event.

The discussion was guided by Yanuar Nugroho, the Coordinator of the Expert Team for the National Secretariat of SDGs with Vivi Yulaswati, Expert Staff of the Minister of National Development Planning for Social Affairs and Poverty Reduction as Head of the National Secretariat of SDGs, as the responder.

Taufik Hanafi started the event, Secretary of the Ministry of National Development Planning, and the Main Secretary of Bappenas who delivered the report on Amending Presidential Regulation 59/2017 to Presidential Regulation 111/2022 concerning the Implementation of the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.

“During the Decade of Action era, we need acceleration and a strong commitment by amending the Presidential Decree No. 59 of 2017 became Presidential Regulation No. 111 of 2022 concerning the Implementation of the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals,” Taufik said.

In his speech, Suharso Monoarfa also underlined the importance of Presidential Regulation No. 111 of 2022 to realize the SDGs achievement towards the Golden Indonesia 2045.

“2030 SDGs aims to provide a solid foundation towards Indonesia 2045,” the Minister said.

“Indonesia’s Economic Transformation according to SDGs begins in the RPJMN of 2020-2024.”

Suharso added, “The Presidential Regulation No. 111 of 2022 concerning the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals Achievement was enforced according to the human rights and equality by paying attention to social, economic and environmental development with universal, integration and inclusive principles.”

Teguh Setyabudi, the Director General of the Regional Development Ministry of Home Affairs, further explained the role of regional governments in following up on Presidential Regulation No. 111 of 2022.

“The regional development aims to realize the improvement and equitable distribution of community income, job opportunities, business fields, increasing access and quality of public services, as well as regional competitiveness,” he said.

“The mandate of implementing SDGs is in accordance with the essence of the opening of the fourth paragraph of the 1945 Constitution as well as those written in Pancasila,” he added.

Margo Yuwono further explained the innovation for Strengthening the Provision of Basic and Sectoral Statistics to Encourage Acceleration of SDGs Achievements.

“The data plays an important role in monitoring various attempts conducted by the government, community, and the public. It should be supported with accurate data so every program’s achievements can be evaluated,” Margo said.

In the final session and closing, Vivi Yulaswati, the Expert Staff of the Minister of National Development Planning for Social Affairs and Poverty Reduction and Head of SDGs National Secretariat, concluded the follow-up action plans.

“The follow-up action plans have a great urgency to realize the Presidential Regulation No. 111 of 2022,” Vivi said.

“Therefore, we have prepared several points. First, we will proceed the Presidential Regulation No. 111 of 2022 by coordinating and consolidating derivative regulations and their implementation. Second, strengthening facilities, supervision, synchronization, and intensive coordination in various regions. Then, we will continue to update the roadmap as well as the National Action Plan and the Regional Action Plan according to the regional government period in line with the RPJMN and the 2030 SDGs targets,” she added.

The Presidential Regulation No. 111 of 2022 becomes the new legal basis for government and non-government stakeholders in accelerating SDGs achievement.
