UNAIR NEWS – For Fajar Pratomo, fasting month is not an excuse to leave world affairs. But the month of fasting actually becomes a moment to further improve themselves and realize the steps forward.
To UNAIR NEWS , Head of BEM Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga said that is voicing that in the month of Ramadan, everything done should be intended for worship. Regarding daily activities, Ramadan does not vary much with the regular months.
Fasting month this year is quite different for Fajar as he was mandated for quite challenging position. The 2014 Accounting student is interpreting Ramadan as a moment of self-reflection, especially in training his patience.
“In Ramadan we should be more patient in facing all the problems. Furthermore, we must also understand the meaning of patience and understand problems from various points of view, “explained Fajar.
Fajar realized, ramadan this year brings more challenges. Although in the month of Ramadan, he did not stop fighting for the rights of students. Fajar admitted, with all his busy schedule, he had devoted his time to activities in BEM and student activities and his studies and the family became number two.
According to Fajar, in spite of it all, the longing for the month of Ramadan lies in the last ten days. When there are no more lecturers, he can focus on worship. In the last ten days he usually did iktikaf in Masjid Al-Akbar, Surabaya. This is the moment he always yearns for every year.
After passing the month of Ramadan later, as usual Fajar celebrates Eid in his hometown, Semarang with his big family. He uses this moment to spend his time with family.
“My family always understands my work at BEM. Therefore, this Eid moment is for my family, “he said.
Fajar hoped that for Eid celebration in the few days, he can be a better person, and always understand the value of patience and sincerity in the face of existing problems. (*)
