UNAIR NEWS – Yunita Dyah Kusumaningrum should be proud of herself because the student from Pati Regency, Central Java was appointed as the best bachelor’s graduate of Apothecary Education, Faculty of Pharmacy (FF) Universitas Airlangga. Yunita managed to achieve 3.77 GPA.
She admitted that she was very happy and did not expect to get the achievement. As during the final semester, she actually fell ill and required relatively long healing time. She was sick because of her habit working her thesis excessively. She often forgot the time to eat and rest. She was forced to postpone the completion of her thesis.
“I admit, seeing my friends being graduated, while I postponed to complete the thesis and got treatments, was quite hard. However, for a long time I think there must be wisdom from this incident. While in healing I remain eager to finish the thesis, ” she explained.
Yunita was determined that her thesis, “Analysis of Antibiotic Usage In Pediatric Inpatient at KSM Child Health Science Using Defined Daily Dose (DDD) “conducted at Universitas Airlangga Hospital. In her thesis, she tried to describe the quantity of usage, usage patterns, and trends in antibiotic use in pediatric patients for early predictions of antibiotic use.
“The preliminary prediction was to evaluate the use of antibiotics and prevent resistance by DDD methods that compared overuse , underuse , or misuse,” she said.
She hoped that the results of her thesis will be continued with the evaluation of the use of antibiotics using Gyssen’s method, so it supports the things she has done. Yunita advised the juniors to focus in finishing the thesis, but also maintain the health.
