UNAIR NEWS – The atmosphere Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), Campus C UNAIR was festive. Wednesday night of November, 22, ten pairs of Universitas Airlangga Ambassador Finalists consisting of outstanding students, competed in final stage.
“Students selected as UNAIR Ambassador Finalists not only have an interesting appearance, but also extensive insight and reliable public speaking. Therefore, it becomes one of the indicators of assessment, “said Tamara Meiliana Siswanto, the ambassador of UNAIR in 2016.
Tamara also added that the selection process from UNAIR Ambassadors was very competitive. The selection process this year was also followed by participants from several faculties. Then, Tamara added, the selected 10 pairs were eligible to advance to the final round after a very rigorous assessment.
“The judging is not only seen from the intelligence, but ethics is also important as well as the personality of each finalist during quarantine,” said Tamara.
In the night of UNAIR Ambassador Election Grand Final, besides singing together, the finalists are also required to answer questions from the judges. The judges were Reyza Fitri Aninda who was Raki of East Java 2008, Edith Frederika from the Directorate of Student Affairs UNAIR, Rinaldi Yoga Tamara and Tamara Meiliana Siswanto, 2016 UNAIR Ambassador.
Not only enlivened by the appearance of UNAIR Ambassador Finalists, the supporters were ready to give encouragement and cheer them. After the finalists finished replying, supporters who carried posters, pink balloons, or even encouraging banners, instantly shouted and gave applause as supports.
Despite the rain, the students who want to watch his comrades in action were still in high spirits. No doubt, the venue was lively for three hours from 19:00 to 22:00.
In the end of the event, the winners of 2017UNAIR ambassadors were announced. In the 1st Place is from Faculty of Psychology, Andrea Maria Agniwijaya and Syafri Sasmito Sangito who is Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. Meanwhile, UNAIR 1 Deputy Ambassador was won by Adek Wahyu Nugroho and Adella Virginia.
Furthermore, the selected Favorite UNAIR Ambassador was Issaura Vita Yulinda from Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. While UNAIR Ambassador of Friendship was crowned to Mirda Tri Aries Chandra from Faculty of Fisheries and Marine.
In the same venue, Head of BEM KM UNAIR Anang Fajrul said that UNAIR’s Ambassador work as the face of UNAIR in branding at national and international level.
“Bringing UNAIR to Top 500 world-class universities is one of UNAIR’s ambassador roles. Selected ambassadors can optimize their role and realize the goal of UNAIR to be a world-class university, “said Anang.
