UNAIR NEWS – The opening of UNAIR Guest House located at Jalan Dharmawangsa no. 25 according to Vice Rector IV UNAIR Junaidi Khotib, S.Si., M.Kes., Ph.D. is aimed to reinforce the academic activities including researches, campus visits, and all activities related to the university Tri Dharma (Three Virtues). The target for Guest House’s costumers are academicians, UNAIR guests, and the public.
“Students or lecturers in UNAIR which pull an all-nighter can use the guest house. It includes inbound students or staff from an exchange program. While the public can use it as long as UNAIR do not have any activities there. Our priority is anyone who has an activity in UNAIR,” said Junaidi..
He estimated profit in its early years will reach Rp 400 million a year. The estimation was based on an assumption of staying period at 80% or facility use for 255 out of 365 days.
“With this assumption, this guest house will provide non-tuition fund Rp 400 million a year. In the future, if everything is tidied, it can reach Rp 700 million a year. It wasn’t merely from the increased rate. We improved the service such as providing a canteen. Of course, it shouldn’t violate the regulations,” said the doctor graduated from Hoshi University, Japan.
The guest house location is quite strategic as it near the main road (Jalan Dharmawangsa). Also, it is close to shops, the library and a banks (BRI and Mandiri).
“I think the guests will be quite pleased and feel comfortable during their stay here as the house concept is homey,” he added while checking the rooms after the ribbon cutting session in the official opening of Guest House last Tuesday, March 1. (*)
