UNAIR Kafilah Ready for National MTQ Competition

UNAIR NEWS – There were 27 students attending for kafilah sending off ceremony for National Student Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQMN) at the Management Office Hall, Universitas Airlangga, Wednesday, July 26. The 27 students will join the MTQMN contest taking place in Malang next week.

The 27 students will participate in 16 kinds of competitions, both individuals and groups. Among the competitions included Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran, Musabaqah Tartilil Quran, Musabaqah Qiraat Saba’ah Riwayat Warsy and Qalun, Musabaqah Hifzhil Quran 5 Juz, 10 Juz, and 20 Juz, Musabaqah Khathil Quran Decoration Class.

There are also Musabaqah Fahmil Quran, Musabaqah Syahril Quran, Musabaqah Writing Scientific Content of Al-Quran, Musabaqah Scientific Debate of Al-Quran content in Arabic and English, and Musabaqah Computer Application Design Al-Quran.

In his speech, Dr. M. Hadi Shubhan., SH, MH, CN. as the Director of Student Affairs UNAIR said that the mission of MTQMN is in line with the mission of UNAIR, Excellence with Morallity .

“The main purpose of Musabaqah is worship and improving piety and morality. Achievement is the second goal, ” he said.

Vice Rector III, Prof. Amin Alamsjah asked all contestants to intend everything just to worship God.

In 2015, being held at UI, UNAIR won the 3rd general winner. KH Abdul Wahab Husein as the coach of MTQ Kafilah UNAIR hoped this year UNAIR can be at the Top Three.

“Hope, at least we can maintain last year’s overall achievement, Third Place. From the participants who participate, this year’s contingent is quite potential, ” he said.

Competition to be watched out for is the State University of Malang (UM) which has won twice as the general champion in the competition held every other year. The team of University of Indonesia and Universitas Brawijaya also teams to be reckoned with.

MTQMN UNAIR has done various preparations. Starting from the search for excellent participants, coaching, to training camp (TC) special contingent held in Batu. (*)
