UNAIR NEWS – Executive Student Board (BEM) of UNAIR will have new president. The committee of election (PPK) has started the selection process.
There are three pairs of candidate for President and Vice president of BEM UNAIR this year. They are Widya Regsha (Faculty of Social and Political Science) and Reno Albra (Faculty of Economics and Business), second candidates are Helmy Bachtian (Faculty of Public Health) and Fajar Putra (Faculty of Law), and the third are Anang Fajrul (Faculty of Social and Political Science) and Rinaldi Yoga (Faculty of Economics and Business)
The candidates have passed the administrative selection after completing eligibility requirements such as registration form, curriculum vitae, statement letter and others papers. The requirements submitted were also about the candidate’s vision and missions, organization culture, and focus and targets of their administrations. Another important thing is copies of student ID cards of supporters with total amount 1 percent of all students of each faculty.
The next process in election is dialog public. In there, the candidates will be asked about UNAIR, vision and mission and grand design. It will be held in every faculty in campus a, b and C UNAIR, from Tuesday (28/2) to Friday (3/3)
“This year, the student interest in election is rising. Many students attended the public campaign in faculty. It means that they have realized the importance of politics. Compared to last year, their participation is increasing significantly,” said Raditya Fitrianoor Putra, as chief of PPK.
After public campaign of the candidates, they will go forward for a public discussion to get some inputs and recommendation. There will be competent panel for the public dialog.
From public dialog, the committee will hold the voting in faculties to figure out the public opinions about the candidates. The result of the voting will be used for the recommendation of verdict on Friday (10/3).
Raditya hoped that for the whole process of the election, all candidates will obey the regulations. “Hopefully, the president-elect will be able to carry out their vision and mission for UNAIR, and for the losing candidates to keep contributing with their roles because all of them share similar vision and mission for UNAIR,” added the Psychology student class of 2015.
Regarding their vision and missions, Regsha and Reno want to create harmony among students of UNAIR. Helmi and Fajar would like to make BEM UNAIR accelerate collaborations and actualization for UNAIR and Indonesia and Anang and Rinaldi would like to build cooperative BEM UNAIR in movement and achievement based on transparency, professionalism and unity.
