UNAIR NEWS – One of the problems for small business practitioners is their lack of marketing knowledge, especially in the digital era like today. UNAIR KKN (Community Service Program) Group 164 has initiated a Digital Marketing workshop with the CEO of Minhaj, Hafiz Minhajuel.

Alaik Wahyu Rozaki, as the person in charge of the Digital Marketing Workshop, said that the workshop was organized after conducting interviews with residents around the Barata Jaya urban community, Surabaya. The residents had received training several times and were able to make a product from local materials.

“However, it’s a shame they did not continue because they don’t know how to sell it,” he explained.

In the workshop, Hafiz Minhajuel said that digitalization makes it easy for everyone to start a business. With digitalization, the product target is not limited to one area but can cover all of Indonesia.

Hafiz emphasized that to start a business, you do not have to have significant capital first. He even started a business with around 100 thousand only. One of the keys is to keep growing.

Furthermore, the person in charge of the activity, Putri Pramita, said that the participants were very enthusiastic about the workshop. It can be seen from the enthusiasm of the participants in asking questions.

The Community Service Team also made video tutorials on making nutritious dishes from cheap ingredients easy to find. These tutorials are expected to improve the variety of nutritious dishes and be marketed by implementing digital marketing lessons. Mita hoped that participants could understand how to digitally market and maximize social media as a means for doing business.

“Hopefully, after this workshop, all participants, mainly residents of the Barata Jaya urban community, can actualize the knowledge gained from the workshop,” she explained.

At the end, one of the workshop participants, Husnul Hotimah, was happy to be able to take part in the Digital Marketing workshop. The way Hafiz delivered the material motivated her to start a business.

“And most importantly, Mas Hafiz also instills his business thinking based on Islam. Like thinking whether later the product can bring benefits and solve consumer problems, or when giving customer satisfaction by actually providing guarantees,” she concluded. (*)
