UNAIR NEWS – For some people, hijrah or change to a better direction is not an easy thing to do. Although the heart already has the intention to change for the better, there are always obstacles towards it.
Based on that, Spirituality division of Islam Student Executive Board of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine (SKI BEM FPK) Universitas Airlangga held event of Religious Inspiration of Fishery (SIRIP) themed ‘Hijrahku karena DIA”. In the event held at the Main Hall of Ulul Azmi Mosque Campus C Sunday, October 15, there was a sermon emphasized the process of hijrah.
In his speech, the head of the committee Ragil Setia revealed the great urgency of the theme taken.
“Hijrah is a very important thing, because by it we can change ourselves to be a better person,” he explained.
SIRIP this year invited an experienced speaker in the field of hijrah. Through his guidance, he was able to change the paradigm of punk groups that initially tend to be wild to be more polite and be pious muslims. He was ustaz Aditya Abdurrahman.
In the sermon, Aditya explained that hijrah requires a guidance from a mentor to make the process focused. Mentors play a role to maintain consistency of hijrah. This mentor is also a reminder to stay diligent when they feel boredom.
“The presence of mentors is an important thing in hijrah, because this mentor is the one who will guide and direct to be consistent,” said Aditya.
The committee presented a member of the Muslim Punk community who had succeeded in his hijrah. He was Rizal Pamudi or known as Ipam in Punk Muslim. Rizal shared his story, he started when he was saturated with his thoughts on the left movements.
Rizal also said, when he met Aditya Abdurrahman who successfully in his hijrah, he felt a lot of enjoyment in his life.
“When I have successfully change for the better, I got many benefits in my life. I feel calmer and more focused, “said Rizal.
In the end of the SIRIP event, banjari and nasyid performances were presented by Religious Art Student Units (UKM SR) UNAIR. One of the SIRIP participants, Hakim, mentioned that after joining this event he got the spirit to hijrah. He wanted to be consistent more in the process.
“A useful event, able to increase my consistency to hijrah,” explained hakim. (*)
