UNAIR NEWS – Nur Aini Mulyadi, S.Farm., Apt., M.Farm., alumna of Pharmaceutical Science Master’s Program, was declared the best graduate Faculty of Pharmacy in UNAIR graduation December 2017. The woman born in Surabaya, December 26, 1991 completed her study with 3.90 GPA.
To UNAIR NEWS, Aini admitted that there was nothing instant for her success. There were tears and disappointments in the process. Yet she remained steadfast in determining her direction and self-motivation, and that was the key.
During her study, Aini conducted various research and publications such as in the International Journal of ChemTech Research entitled “Phase Behavior of Dried-DDA Liposomal Formulation Dispersed in HPMC Matrix in The Presence of Saccharides” and the Journal of Biomimetics, Biomaterials, and Biomedical Engineering with “Physical Characterization of Liposomes Formulation Lyophilized in The Presence of Disaccharide and HPMC as Dispersed Matrix”.
She recounted her thesis research on the development of dry ovalbumin liposome formula using sucrose lioprotectant and hpmc dispersant matrix (as a vaccine delivery system). Her interest in liposomes was based on their advantage over other drug delivery systems.
It is composed of a lipid bilyer that has the ability to mimic the target body cells to encapsulate a good drug substance that is hydrophilic (water soluble) in the interior core.
“Thesis research takes time, mind, and energy especially for the testing to know the integrity of ovalbumin, using both SDS-PAGE and Bradford Assay. In addition, there is inconvenience over the length of the test queue as it is not balance with the ability of the tool, ” she said.
Aini Currently utilizes her knowledge as a pharmacist. However, she will not stop learning. In the future, Aini wanted to develop a direct excipient of a combination of Sukrosa-Polyplasdone XL-10-HPMC at a certain level into a co-processed excipient package so it can be directly used in the production process of all drug carriers susceptible to re-crystallization and phase separation during lyophilization.
