On this day (5/12/2022) undergraduate students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga (FF UNAIR) class of 2020 have successfully held a traditional herb exhibition. This event was held in the lobby of the 1st floor of the Nanizar Zaman Joenes Building and is open to the public.

This activity was carried out as the final project of students taking Traditional and Complementary Medicine courses. Dr. apt. Wiwied Ekasari, M.Sc. as the Lecturer in Charge of the Teaching Subject of that course, it was he who initiated this exhibition.

With this activity, students can properly practice how to mix natural ingredients that can have use value for health. They can also experience how to go directly to provide education about traditional ingredients to the general public, especially the younger generation who are still unfamiliar with this matter.

Not only that, student creativity was also tested in this activity. It was proven that the students creatively conjured the appearance of traditional ingredients to be contemporary and have aesthetic value. Starting from the name of the product, the packaging, to the way it is served, they have thought carefully about it.

For example, Cabe Puyang’s products are named “Cayang” and “Cipung” and there are many other creativities displayed by the students.

The products on display at this event are not only ingredients that are consumed, but also ingredients that are used as external medicine. Examples include param, pilis, masks and others.

The students explained in detail about their products to each visitor who came to their booth. Not only that, visitors also get the opportunity to try their products. So, besides visitors can gain new knowledge, their bodies can also directly experience the benefits of the products on display.
