Rector to Launch PKPB UNAIR During the 63rd Dies Natalis

UNAIR NEWS – Rector of Universitas Airlangga Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA., received a visit from five members of Paguyuban Karyawan Purna Bhakti (PKPB) of Universitas Airlangga, at the hall of Rector’s Office in UNAIR Management Building, on Friday, September 22 afternoon.

PKPB’s visit was led by Dra. Kusmawati, accompanied by four of the eight PKPB pioneering members. The four members are Masugeng Sunaryo, Hadi Gunawan, Aisyar Halim, and Yitno Ramli. They were accepted by the Rector, with Vice Rector II Dr. Moh. Madyan, SE., M.Si., M.Fin., Director of Human Resources Dr. Purnawan Basundoro, SS., M. Hum., and Secretary of Universitas Airlangga  Drs. Koko Srimulyo, M.Si.

In that meeting Dra. Kusmawati explained about the history of the establishment of this educational staff retiree association.  PKPB was initiated by nine people as Coordinating members, four other members were Bambang Dwi Tunggal, Nonok Beno Mintardjo, Sumadi, and Widji Lestari.

“The establishment of this PKPB because we feel there is something empty. After retirement we no longer have any space that could be used to communicate with each other, so it is very difficult and morally burden life in old age, “said Kusmawati after handing the book containing the vision, mission and organizational reports.

He also explained the vision and mission of PKPB, the rules in the organization, as well as the activities organized. These activities are regular meetings every three months. There is a contribution for the organization cash. The money is set aside to give aid to sick and or distressed members. Each member will take turn to host the meeting. There is also recreational activity.

“The amount of aid is not much, but the most importanting from this is the bond and attention we share among pensioners,” Hadi Gunawan added.

So far, about 150 members have been contacted, but only 100 of them registered. PKPB hopes there is cooperation in the management of UNAIR, for example when there is a staff retired, the identityd can be given to PKPB.

In the occasion, the Rector of UNAIR Prof. Moh Nasih welcomed and was very pleased to receive information on the establishment this retirees’ association. In fact, he was willing to inaugurate this organization at the peak of the 63rd anniversary of UNAIR in November. The inauguration will be scheduled.

The closest event to be done by PKPB, is the three monthly meeting  in October 2017, some UNAIR high ranking officials were willing to attend. “Hopefully we will be able to come to this PKPB event in October,” said Rector Prof. M Nasih. (*)
