UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga should be proud to have Bachelor program of Industrial engineering of fishery products (TIHP). This new program in Faculty of Fisheries and Marine has more excellence than other universities.

Interviewed in her office, Dr.Rr JuniTriastuti. M.Si, as the coordinator of Industrial Engineering of Fishery Products (TIHP) program said that TIHP focuses on industrial field. The advantages and signature of TIHP is one of steps to optimize wealth of marine and improve economic of community.

“In other universities, only a few focus on the industry. We want education in TIHP to address challenges of the fishery industry. In addition to processing, we also think about the economic aspects,” said Juni.

In addition to industry, TIHP program also tries to achieve UNAIR’s mission as a leading center of medical science. Looking ahead, June wants students’ researches to be able to explore into the wealth of marine life for pharmaceuticals.

“Because the fisheries studies in UNAIR was a science born from veterinary scientists, we also focus on health. We want to explore the benefits of biota in the sea, “he explained.

To focus on the industry and health, TIHP supported by the qualified human resources. The program established in 2015 has a lot of young lecturers graduated from college renowned both domestically and abroad.

“Most lecturers here are still young and have many ranges of scientific knowledge, such as nanoparticle, food processing, biotechnology, functional food and nutrition,” Juni explained
