UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga’s Startup and Incubation Business Development Board (BPBRIN) held an event that brought investors together with startups assisted by UNAIR Business and Technology Incubator. The activity was titled Airlangga Startup Business Matching and Matchmaking 2022.
This activity gives the opportunity for startups to develop and expand their business networks. The startups joining this activity come from various backgrounds, both IT-based and non-IT startups.
The event held at the Majapahit Hall of the Airlangga Sharia and Entrepreneurship Education Center (ASEEC) Building on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, was themed Let’s Build Collaborative Synergy & Respective Investment. Collaborations are expected to be formed between startups and investors.
UNAIR Director of Finance Dr Ardianto SE MSI AK CMA CA opened the activity. He said that by paying attention to startups, the existing potential could later impact economic growth in Indonesia. Therefore, UNAIR is committed to developing potential through similar events.
“The growth potential for startups in Indonesia is enormous. UNAIR is committed to supporting this potential through events like this,” said Ardianto.
After being opened by Ardianto, investors can view startup products for 45 minutes. Later the startup will come to the investor’s desk to do a speed date for 1 hour to reach an agreement between the investor and the startup.
The activity was attended by various startups, including Gelatah, which is a product of UNAIR students, Vascular Indonesia, which is engaged in the health sector, and many others. The investors are PT Bursa Efek Indonesia, Bank Mandiri, Bank BNI, Bank BSI, and many more.
At the end of the event, there were several agreements between investors and startups, such as Bank Syariah Indonesia UNAIR branch and Giarus, who collaborated as distributors with a maximum of 10 million rupiahs for priority customers. In addition, several agreements occurred, including funding, coaching, and forms of product cooperation. (*)
