UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga was appointed host for the 2022 Indonesian Rectors Forum (FRI) on October 29-30, 2022. President Joko Widodo and several ministers are expected to attend the event, which will be held at Airlangga Convention Center and some venues in MERR (C) Campus.

Talking about the FRI preparation, UNAIR Rector, Prof Dr. Moh Nasih SE MT Ak, said that the organizers had prepared the event well. He explained the urgency of the rectors meeting from various state and private universities nationwide during the press conference on Thursday, October 13, 2022.

“This forum is an annual event inviting all rectors to pour their ideas for the nation and recommendations for the government. It should be a forum towards a better Indonesia in the future,” Prof Nasih said.

This year, FRI explores “The Role of Higher Education in Realizing the Sovereignty, Food, Energy, Medicine, and Medical Equipment Towards Golden Indonesia 2045”. The theme was expected to allow the rectors to contribute and deliver their ideas for the growth of Indonesia.

Prof Nasih further emphasized that other important matters will be discussed in the forum, especially issues related to education, the National Education System Law, improving the quality of democracy, and the risk of the global recession in 2023.

“All those topics should be discussed in one forum. It requires collaborative solutions and synergy of the best minds for the development of Indonesia. We shall do it together for the vision of Indonesia Golden 2045,” he said.
