UNAIR NEWS – Officials of Management and Science University (MSU) Malaysia visited Universitas Airlangga on Friday, February 24, to discuss potential collaboration between both institution. The delegates were received by UNAIR officials in Plenary room, Management Office Building, Campus C UNAIR.

Previously, both have established student exchange program. With this visit, other potential collaboration is expected, either from in mobility or research and publications.

“Based on the discussion with UNAIR Rector and UNAIR officials, we have agreed to strengthen relation of MSU and UNAIR especially in student mobility, education collaboration and staff mobility. I believe it will give more opportunity for students of UNAIR and MSU to gain global experience,” said Rector of MSU  Prof Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid.

Shukri said that the collaboration to be established is in medicine and pharmacy. “Our collaboration all this time was in science and pharmacy. We want to reinforce it including in management, technology and  halal studies,” he added.

He also said that MSU students who have been in student exchange program really acclaimed UNAIR. “We expect more student and staff exchange, MSU students really acclaimed UNAIR,” she said.

There will be a memorandum of understanding between the institutions. Rector of MSU hoped that this collaboration can produce academicians who can compete globally.

“I hope UNAIR and MSU can be best universities together, share learning experience either between students or lecturers in order to be best academicians globally,” he said.

Meanwhile, UNAIR Rector Prof. M. Nasih, S.E., M.T., Ak., hoped the result of this visit can be executed soon.

“We have shared similar thoughts. We just need to execute them. It is not only about UNAIR and MSU, but also about Indonesia and Malaysia. Hopefully this collaboration can develop well,” said Nasih. (*)
