UNAIR NEWS – A total of 329 participants from SMAN 6 Malang crowded Kahuripan Hall Campus C, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Monday afternoon, October 23. The high school students are briefed by a staff of the Information and Public Relations Center (PIH) and UNAIR Student Admission Center (PPMB) in the visit.

At the beginning of the event, to improve their morale, they yelled “Vidyagata-Bisa”. Asked about the yell, Alviando, one of the students, explained that “Vidyagata-Bisa” means “come to seek knowledge”.

For UNAIR, October and November are the busy months. As there are more visits to UNAIR in these months.

For SMAN 6 Malang, it was the first visit, but it was already planned three years ago. “Alhamdulillah, this year, we can visit UNAIR. It was quite difficult to manage our schedule, “said Kushartanto, one of the teachers at SMAN 6 Malang.

Considering that these months are close to the SNMPTN schedule, the new year 2018, SMAN 6 Malang did not want to miss the visit period like last year. So, the letter of request was sent in advance.

UNAIR became one of the selected campuses to visit. Because based on survey results by teachers, many of the students of SMAN 6 Malang are more interested in studying outside the city.

This opportunity was used well by teachers and students, both from science and social studies, to better understand the new admission procedure at UNAIR including the facilities and benefits of being a student of UNAIR.

Faradila, one of the high school students, asked about the most popular program in UNAIR . According to Ikhsan, the staff of PPMB, the most popular program is in Faculty of Public Health. There were 5000 students applied from the three channels of admission.

The school has given a guide book to each student. It contains some questions the students need to answer based on the presentations of PIH and PPMB. (*)
