UNAIR NEWS – Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG) Universitas Airlangga hold guest lecture themed “Perkembangan Penelitian Bidang Kedokteran Gigi Regenerasi”/(The development of Research in Regenerative Dentistry), on Wednesday (19/7) at Aula Garuda Muka FKG.

The Dean of FKG UNAIR Dr. R. Darmawan Setijanto, drg., M.Kes said that the guest lecture was a media to share knowledge and experience among academics civitas. “The experience they shared was a result of research that they (speakers) develop in the last few months,” Darmawan said

It was held by collaboration between alumni, student and lecturers of specialist program of dental medicine (PPDGS). Three speakers were Ika Dewi Ana, drg., M.Kes., Ph.D, Retno Ardhani, drg., M.Sc., Anne Handrini Dewi, drg., M.Kes., and Rhudanton, drg., Sp.Perio. They were from Gadjah Mada University and Brawijaya University.

The speakers delivered their each research about regenerative dentistry of bone substitution. “When we create product, we attempt avoiding autolog or aunogram, which is taken from our own bone,” Ika said

Ika said that a good bone substitution material was gypsum type due to its high quality and reachable.

Retno said that the addition of other substances in gypsum. According to her, gypsum had downside that was quickly run out, so it took other substitution. “We add carbonate calcium and cinnamaldehyde ,” She said

The following session was explanation of regenerative tissue that was delivered by Anne and Rhudanton about management of the sinus lift before implant installation.
