UNAIR NEWS – Semester break is the most awaited moment after the student has done the final exam. However, not all students choose to go on vacation and visit the sights. Some of them choose to gain knowledge through apprenticeship in various institutions.
Apprenticeship program is a part of the job training. The apprenticeship is done by the students as well as the final students as one of the requirements to complete the education process. Although they are not obliged to do an apprenticeship, some students of the Faculty of Law Universitas Airlangga chose to do it during this semester’s break.
Alifia Mauliana, one of the FH students who will be in the sixth semester, also explained why she chose to take an apprenticeship instead of going on vacation or staying at home.
“My friends and I have planned this apprenticeship from the beginning of the fifth semester. We wanted to get new things we do not get from campus. Alhamdulillah after a few days of our apprenticeship, we got experience such as doing inspection in the market and other things, ” said the apprentice in Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU).
Regarding the required papers during the apprenticeship, Alifia also said that the documents required are quite easy. Students only need to apply for apprenticeship provided by faculty, photocopy of academic report and student identity card.
So far, some of the institutions chosen by FH students for apprenticeship are companies related to their study interests. For example Alifia focuses on Business Law chose an apprenticeship in KPPU KPD Surabaya office.
In addition to Alifia, there is also Valycia Maya, who is also in apprenticeship program. The woman known better as Vaya chose an apprenticeship at the State Attorney. Vaya chose the Constitutional Court because she took an interest on judiciary.
“I intentionally chose Prosecutor’s Office because I am interested in justice. So it matches, “said the alumnus of SMAN 16.
Apprenticeship usually lasts for three weeks to a month. So far, the students who have completed their apprenticeship have claimed to have gained a lot of new sciences that they do not get from college. In addition, they also made new friends from other universities as well as gained experience that is certainly useful for the future.
