UNAIR NEWS – Academicians of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is celebrating its faculty’s anniversary. There are many interesting events held to celebrate it such as village service, and national or international seminar.
The pinnacle of the celebration was “Gala Dinner dan Awards: Emerald Night of FEB UNAIR” in Dyandra Convention Centre, on Saturday, August 27. The event was attended by at least 300 alumni from many years.
To make the event livelier, there were some student acoustic groups and awarding sessions. There was also FEB UNAIR alumni who is national musician, Dudy Oris, performed in the event and also the launching of official FEB YouTube channel.
Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., M.Si., Ak., said that the event was aimed to strengthen ties among academicians, from students, lecturers to alumni.
“The event was organized together because we expect to preserve the sense of belonging to FEB,” said Prof. Dian.
Deputy of IKAFE, Djoko Santoso ywho was present in the event said that the roles of alumni to support faculty development are expected. “Therefore, the faculty in the future will not only involves stakeholders inside, but also the roles of alumni spread and stationed with strategic roles to support development,” said Djoko.
In the gala dinner, there was an awarding session to academicians and alumni with achievements. Some of the awards were lifetime achievement who was presented to a lecturer of Developmental Economics Department, Drs. Ec. Karjadi Mintaroem, M.S., while for national service was presented to Prasetio as the President Director of PERURI. The awards was given by UNAIR Rector, Prof.Moh. Nasih, who is also alumus of FEB, accompanied by the Dean of FEB.
The night even livelier as Dudy performed. The former vocalist of Yovie and Nuno sang six songs in total. He invited some guests to the stage once in a while to sing along. He also invited Prof. Nasih and Prof. Dian to sing together on the stage. (*)
