Ambassador of Czech to Republic of Indonesia Visits UNAIR

UNAIR NEWS – To improve educational collaboration between two countries, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Republic of Indonesia,  Ing. Ivan Hotěk made a visit to Universitas Airlangga. The delegation was welcomed by UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mochammad Nasih, in his room, Thursday, March 30.

“Universitas Airlangga reminds me of my country as we have a lot in common. I’m impressed for being here for the first time,” said Ivan when he was asked about his first impression of UNAIR.

Ivan’s visit to UNAIR was a friendly visit. He said that its visit was a way to improve collaboration between educational institutions.

“As the ambassador, I want to improve the collaboration between both countries. It is the collaboration in the field of business, government, and society which one of its aspect is education,” said Ivan.

Furthermore, Ivan appreciated the Indonesian government which provided LPDP scholarships to Indonesian students. The scholarship has given more opportunity for students to continue studies to higher degree, either  in the country or abroad.

Besides the scheme of LPDP scholarship, Ivan also said that there are many students who study with Erasmus Mundus scholarship. On the other hand, there are hundreds of students from Czech in Indonesia, Australia, and the U.S.A to learn medicine.

He tries to improve the number of Czech students in Indonesia. Ivan said that there are more Czech students visiting Indonesia to learn Bahasa Indonesia.

The ambassador visit to UNAIR was a part of his tour in Indonesia. Later, he will also visit administrations of  Surabaya, East Java province, ministries and institutions. (*)
