UNAIR NEWS – “The youth is the pillar of change.” It is always used to describe the figure of youth. Today, there are many things done by the youth, especially students to promote changes. One of them is by providing early education for freshmen to know more about organizations.

Regarding that matter, Airlangga University Bidikmisi Organization (AUBMO, -red) held an upgrading event for bidikmisi freshmen through Try an Experience Program with AUBMO (TEA). The event packed with games and education was held at Taman Bibit Surabaya on Sunday, October 29.

At least, there were about 28 freshmen in TEA activity. As the first speaker, Irsyad Qariin, Head of AUBMO in 2016. In his presentation, Irsyad said that to run the organization, it was not about completing the program. More than that, the organization is a family for him.

“The organization is not only limited to running their respective work programs, but the organization is also a family for its members” he said, which is now one of the Board of Trustees of the Organization.

Irsyad also added that AUBMO has a tradition of gotong royong (work together). At AUBMO, the ministry that has completed its work program will assist other ministerial work programs.

“AUBMO is not merely an organization which manages work programs, that’s the other side of AUBMO,” he said.

In agreement with Irsyad, the active Head of AUBMO Hafit Ari Pratama presented the dynamics of the AUBMO’s journey from its inception to the present day. He also advised TEA participants to continue to learn and work in their respective ministries to maintain the organization make it better.

“Now AUBMO becomes an organization that is not only known in UNAIR, but also known in other areas because its work program mostly about community service. For example, in the near future there is a program Bidikmisi Goes To School , ” he explained.
