UNAIR NEWS – Sunday, October 30, 2022, was the final day of Indonesian Rector Forum (FRI) 2022. The forum has produced several recommendations in political, legal, and educational fields.

To the press, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih SE MT Ak explained the three fields. In the political field, Prof. Nasih reminded that in the 2024 general election, people should prioritize honesty, good examples, morality, and civility.

The rectors are ready to commit and contribute the best efforts to achieve high-quality democracy in Indonesia. They agreed to make 2024 a part of realizing a high-quality and dignified democracy.

“A democracy which is dignified, low-cost, with zero fraud and money politics. We are ready for any roles of higher education,” he said.

In the legal field, the professor highlighted the need for building a positive legal image and justice in society through the collaboration and commitment of law enforcers and all communities.

“It means that law enforcement is repeated to law enforcers and the community. Particularly to the ones with cases. To take part and/or follow the law mechanism without bribing the law enforcers,” Prof. Nasih said.

Enforcing a sense of justice in the community needs to be done, especially by law enforcers. The rectors saw that, which was marked by various events in the community.

“Therefore, the commitment from all components to work together, ensuring the values of Pancasila become the guiding pillars in the process of substantive and just law enforcement. This is the process we will struggle for,” he said.

In the educational field, Prof. Nasih explained the Law or Draft Law on the National Education System (Sisdiknas). The rectors encourage the authorities to conduct studies and reviews.

The bill draft is expected to cover and discuss all components comprehensively. The Sisdiknas draft review should be done continuously to achieve the Golden Indonesia 2045.

“A golden generation marks Golden Indonesia. And education is the biggest component of it. Hence, national education needs to be comprehensively designed with many parties,” he ended.
