UNAIR NEWS – The management of electronic-based libraries encouraged by Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) through e-library program has attracted the Royal University of Law an Economics (RULE) to made a visit. The representative of RULE visited UNAIR on Monday, October 23 to gain knowledge of e–library practice at UNAIR.
Novita Dwi Anawati, S.Sos., M.Sc, as the officer of Campus Library B UNAIR had prepared a computer that can access various services from e-library, for example for searching journals that suit the expectation through subscription services such as SpringerLink , Oxford Academic Journal , and Emerald Insight . It makes it easier for students in searching research references.
“Students can access all e-library services in two ways, by using an IP based subscription system and set up proxy on the web. IP based, for usage in the UNAIR area, will automatically detect. Meanwhile, if not in UNAIR, students can do proxy registration on the website, “explained Novi.
In addition, she revealed that the campus B library does not only have services on the way of accessing references and research resources, but also Library Class. The class teaches Mendeley training, Turnitin( plagiarism test ), optimizes MS Word , and the use of online presentations such as Prezi and Canva .
PRUM Sokun B.A., M.B.A., a lecturer of RULE in Mathematics, explained that there are various obstacles in conducting research in Cambodia. It happens because of limited access to journal services and questionnaires from published studies, both nationally and internationally. Moreover, data in Cambodia is very difficult to collect due to secrecy of the subject.
“Until now I still have difficulties in collecting data to know the impact of micro financial on the welfare of the community. Communities are ‘reluctant’ to provide information related to the amount of funds provided, “he added.
“From this visit, we certainly hope for cooperation, either to be able to access information that is mutually needed in education as well as to learn on library management with a role model, “closed Sokun.
