UNAIR NEWS – There were about 107 graduates of Nursing Program , Faculty of Nursing (FKp) UNAIR inaugurated by Vice Rector II Dr. Muhammad Madyan, S.E., M.Si., M.Fin on behalf of UNAIR Rector. The event held in Garuda Mukti hall Management Office Building Fifth floor on Tuesday, August 2,was the second inauguration of Nursing students after previously held on March 1.
Beside the parents of graduates, there were Prof. Dr. Nursalam, M.Nurs (Hons) as Dean of Faculty of Nursing (FKp), Prof. Dr. Nasronudin, dr., Sp.PD-KPTI as the Director of UNAIR Hospital and dr. Anang Indaryanto as the Head of Education and Training Division RSUD dr. Soetomo, and also stakeholders collaborating with UNAIR especially in Nursing.
Regarding the professional role of nurses in ASEAN Economic Community (MEA), Prof. Nursalam said that the newly inaugurated nurses should have three principles, self reform to reform ourselves to the betterment, interconnecting to build network with stakeholders.
“And the third is fighting spirit, so you should never give up,” he said to the graduates.
Prof. Nursalam also informed that FKp UNAIR was accredited A and it made the faculty established in 1999 as the best Faculty of Nursing (FKp) in eastern part of Indonesia.
“Even though we are still young, but we can be the best in eastern part of Indonesia in Nursing, so the parents should be grateful as their children graduated from the best educating institution,” he said with a round of applause following.
In the occasion, Vice Rector II UNAIR, Dr. M. Madyan encouraged the newly inaugurated nurses to always have sincerity as nurses are expected to serve patients for 24 hours.
“Nursing profession holds a important role, as they have to bear complaints of patients in 24 hours, so quality of hospital service reflected from the nurses quality. So always have sincerity in providing service,” he said.
“Congratulations for the graduates inaugurated. Prove yourself as UNAIR Graduates with excellent and best performances,” he added. (*)
