UNAIR NEWS – Dozens of lecturers from 40 universities in East Java attended the Training of Trainers (TOT) of Student Creativity Program (PKM) for five fields in 2017, at Universitas Airlangga on Thursday, October 5. Those who guide the students were directed by speaker from Kemenristekdikti, the organizer.
According to the presentation, there will be several different things in this year’s PKM. The dissemination was held to make all PKM stakeholders , both students and supervisors, know the regulations.
Director of Student Affairs Universitas Airlangga, Hadi Shubhan, SH., MH., CN., said, among the differences, this year the initial selection of PKM will be conducted by each university. Then each college will get its own PKM title quota from the central management. For example UNAIR will get 700 titles of PKM proposals that can be submitted to Dikti. The amount was the result of selection at the university.
“So the first review is in the university, the first review used to be at the central management,” said the lecturer of Faculty of Law.
The second difference, next year the maximum number of team members is only three students, except for Community Service Empowerment (PKMM) and Entrepreneurship PKM (PKMK). The third, the determination of the first winner (the gold medal), the second winner (the silver medal) and the third winner (the bronze medal) will be based on the points system.
“So, in one class there can be more than one team who get a gold medal. There was only one champion from one class before. They will be judged with points, “added Hadi Shubhan.
Thesis Free
Asked about prizes for gold medalist at UNAIR, explained Hadi Shubhan, UNAIR in general has not applied thesis free policy for winners of gold medal in PIMNAS. However, the Faculty of Nursing has implemented the policy.
“Rector allows the policy, but the general rule has not been implemented. For example PKM Exacta Research (PKM-PE), is of course equivalent or even be more valuable than writing a thesis. PKMM is certainly more meaningful than the Community Service Program (KKN). It is being formulated, “added the expert of Labor Law.
The policy is expected to be a stimulus for students to follow PKM and qualify PIMNAS. It will also bring benefits to UNAIR.
Until 21 October 2017, UNAIR students can collect PKM proposals to UNAIR (local universities). The selection will commence on 21 October until 1 November, UNAIR and appropriate PKM titles will be sent to Dikti.
