The University Rector of Universitas Airlangga Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA., in his speech, like the one delivered the year before, hoped all graduates cared about their neighborhood. Care for others is the university’s commitment.
”Check our commitment in our Hymne Airlangga. Solemnly we once vowed: Bagimu almamater, Kuberjanji setia, Berdharma bakti suci, Berjasa mulia, Belajar untuk nusa, Indonesia yang kucinta…” said the Rector. The same hope was delivered in today’s graduation ceremony.
The Rector’s speech was delivered again because education lasts our entire life. Thus, always renew and add our knowledge, including from “Life University”. Be sensitive to your surroundings, and pay attention.
“Knowledge comes from problems risen amongst society. Take part in solving their problems, right away, and be sure the knowledge from your campus is sufficient for you to be able to serve your community,” said Prof. Moh Nasih.
People say there is always “challenge and answers”. Meaning, we mustn’t run away from challenges or problems. But we have to be sure that all graduates will be able to face those challenges, because the university whose spirit was “Excellence with Morality” has given you enough provisions.
”With self-confident, change challenges into opportunities. There are a lot of stories around us about people who don’t only walk safely out of problems they face but even become the winner,” asserted the University Rector. (*)
