UNAIR NEWS – Linguistics Master Program Faculty of Humanity Universitas Airlangga retaining to establish international partnership. Recently, the lecturers conducted campus visit at Waseda University, Japan. They were Dr. Ni Wayan Sartini (Head of study program); Deny Arnos Kwary, Ph.D. (head of linguistics department); dan Viqi Ardaniah, M.A.Ling. (Head of faculty of humanity board assurance).
The Visitation to School of Education, Waseda University on October 11th 2017 commenced by attending class who Prof. Tetsuo Harada as the lecturers. Three lecturers had chance to join in class.
Viqi informed that the class was designed not like other conventional class. One desk was seated by three until for students, so students would free to discuss with each other.
“There is also the ‘distant learning’ student who joins classes by using Skype. The visitation is to learn about how the master program in School of Education going on,” Viqi stated
After learning about learning process mechanism, then following by discussion between UNAIR representative and Prof. Tetsuo. In the discussion, Deny provided questions about curriculum, meanwhile Viqi provided more question about learning evaluation and monitoring.
She explained there were differences about curriculum, for example, the master program students in school of education were not required for publication in Scopus indexed international journals.
In admission process, test for admission relate about basic language and literature, so, master students to-be could be from various undergraduate major.
“The most important is they are able to pass the language and literature comprehension,” She informed
“In there, students are not required to acquire high score for TOEFL for graduation requirement in school of education,” She explained
In the occasion, Viqi also promoted about student exchange in master program level through AMERTA program for master students.
“The linguistics Master Program in UNAIR need more inbound and outbound student for internationalization target,” She informed
