UNAIR NEWS – Semi-Autonomous Board (BSO) of Outstanding Student Division Garuda Sakti Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held School of Mawapres 1 on Ahad, October 22.  It was held in Tanjung Hall, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. School of Mawapres 1 is a forum with a goal to produce outstanding students (mawapres), at faculty, university, national and as UNAIR representatives.

There were a hundred freshmen participating in the forum. They are students who have been through a selection, such as from their CV, or curriculum vitae. It was an effort to make mawapres event popular among the freshmen.

For almost a day, the participants got eight new insights, such as introduction to mawapres, exchange, outstanding and creative youth, scientific writing introduction, organizational and leadership skill, CV and closed with a presentation on achievements, independence and dedication.

The eight topics were presented by competent speakers and they are very useful for students to be outstanding students.

Some of the speakers had experiences to be outstanding students in their own time even they have different backgrounds. It improves the students’ motivation to follow the activity.

School of Mawapres 1 is the first step to support freshmen in outstanding student competition.  The long-term support was also made to make the participants share and communicate with others in a group. The goal was to guide and support and finally produce the outstanding students for UNAIR and Indonesia.

Similar thing was stated by Hasztika, the head of the committee. He hoped that School of Mawapres 1 can be an answer towards achievements at national level event and to make UNAIR leading in the national competition.
