In a diplomatic stride towards promoting quality education and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the SDGs Center of Universitas Airlangga embarked on a significant visit to the Embassy of Indonesia in Malaysia. The center’s delegates were received with warmth and enthusiasm by Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Chief of Representative/Ambassador Mr.Hermono and  the First Secretary of Indonesia Mr. Berhan Akla Muqtadir, The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Malaysia embraces the spirit of inclusivity by inaugurating an educational empowerment program, “Sanggar Belajar (SB),” aimed specifically at immigrant communities. This program aims to improve access to education and strengthen the learning capacities of members of immigrant communities in Malaysia, bringing about positive changes in their lives. in a pivotal move to foster a bilateral partnership to support SDG 4 – Quality Education.

The delegates were greeted with genuine excitement, underlining the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing education and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. During the visit, the discussions revolved around diverse programs that align with SDG 4 – Quality Education. The collaborative efforts outlined during the meeting include Student and Staff Mobility, International Conference on Immigrant Children Awareness and Internship Opportunities at the Embassy is a unique opportunity to bridge academic learning with practical experience, students from Universitas Airlangga will have the chance to intern at the Embassy of Indonesia in Malaysia. This immersive experience will provide valuable insights into diplomacy, international relations, and diplomatic efforts to promote quality education.

The collaborative visit underscores the shared vision between SDGs Center of Universitas Airlangga and the Embassy of Indonesia in Malaysia, by leveraging the strengths of both institutions this partnership aims to make a meaningful contribution to SDG 4 – Quality Education and foster greater awareness about the challenges faced immigrant children in accessing education.
