Significant Effort of UNAIR Researchers in Asia

UNAIR NEWS – Measures to improve international recognition of Universitas Airlangga are implemented continuously. The education quality is improved by boosting the number of exchange programs and research collaborations. UNAIR also focuses on making contribution to global community.

This time research collaboration has been established with various researchers from Asia University, Taiwan. There were ten UNAIR researchers invited directly by Asian University to discuss and exchange ideas on research results.

The activities at Asia University Taiwan was from December 26 to December 31, 2017. Interviewed via WhatsApp, Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, Dra., M.Si., as the Director of Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) UNAIR said that the collaboration was based on UNAIR’s performance so far.

Prof. Nyoman added that in some aspects, UNAIR’s researchers have superior research results compared to the researchers of Asia University, and vice versa. With this collaboration, Prof. Nyoman hoped that both institutions can complement each other.

“By having different excellences, either from UNAIR and Asia University, this collaboration will complement each other,” she explained,

Both institutions were also agreed on other forms of collaboration. Representing the UNAIR, Vice Rector III UNAIR Prof. Mochammad Amin Alamsjah, Ir., M.Si., Ph.D., said that the partnership includes collaborative research and publications and collaboration for staff and student exchanges in 2018.

“For collaborative research and publications, there are nine research areas agreed upon with 17 research titles proposed by UNAIR and Asia University researchers. Meanwhile, for the staff and student exchange, there will be exchange programs both inbound and outbound next year, “he explained. “There will be a form of for the staffs,” he added.

Furthermore, Prof. Amin also said that partnership will also be done in the
form of lecturer exchange, inbound and outbound.

“The form of collaboration will be guest lectures, student research guidance and become a consultant,” he concluded.
